Google’s Andy Rubin, via Twitter this morning, said “There are now over 500,000 Android devices activated every day, and it’s growing at 4.4% w/w.” That’s a 100,000 more than Google reported back at Google I/O last month.
At 4.4% week over week growth, Android activations should pass the 1 million per day mark sometime this October. No matter what you think about Google or Android, these are impressive numbers unlike anything we’ve ever seen. It’s amazing that Android was in 4th place behind Windows Mobile a mere two years ago…
